Sponsoring a Gracie’s Promise family does not require a huge amount of time, but it does
require a huge amount of heart.
After the family fills out its application, a sponsor is either appointed by the Board, or a
sponsor volunteers to be the communicator between the family and the Board. The sponsor’s duty is to maintain contact with the family at least on a quarterly basis in
order to understand the ongoing needs of both the child and the family. The sponsor
then gives a report to the Board when the family’s quarterly assessment is due.
This system of communication gives the family a single person to deal with and gives the
organization the information it needs to grant financial support.
The goal of the Board of Gracie’s Promise is to continue with a selected family as long as they need us
and as long as we have the resources to help.
